WhistleBlast will facilitate an exciting development of its highly successful Composition Programme:
To build upon our 2016 Programme in Ballina, Co Mayo by extending geographically and widening the reach and scope of our work towards a more nationwide opportunity: Mayo Youth Orchestra, 4 Secondary Schools and 2 Special Needs groups pooled from Dublin and Mayo.
Inclusive of 140 students, in total, of various backgrounds and abilities
The students will create a new art work, "i-contact" through the Quartet’s inclusive, educational expertise in immersive workshop settings drawing on themes that are of particular relevance to their localities and lives. The performances of the New Work will take place in NCH, Dublin and Ballina Arts Centre, Co Mayo
The composition will evolve by working closely with WhistleBlast.
All musical resource materials relating to the programme will be provided by the Quartet for all teachers and leaders
We can't wait for the final performances in December.
