What's on

The WhistleBlast Quartet is a passionate team of professional performers located in Ireland. As well as performance, we have created and developed our own unique WhistleBlast style of workshops and engagement with young people and all persons with disabilities, as part of our programming. We offer a wide range of musical experiences: exciting performances and recitals for any occasion and workshop programmes for all ages. Our focus is the voice of the child and co-creative music performance, evident in all our work to date.

Fantastic collaborations with long-standing partners enable safe environments for all participants to express themselves freely and explore musical creations.

Our own Kenneth Edge has arranged orchestral, ensemble and solo works, covering a huge repertoire, making us highly diverse and suitable for performances for any event and for all ages.

Our Programmes

WhistleBlast Multimedia Concert

WhistleBlast will be returning with unique multimedia performances. MusicalVoyagesVisualMagic featuring the quartet’s greatest hits including Igor Stravinsky’s Petrushka, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf and more all accompanied by captivating visual images and video footage. These performances are really accessible to both young and mature audiences..

Exciting new repertoire, including a Nightmare Before Christmas, Vivaldi’s Winter, the Snowman and much more plus the telling of and joining in an engaging fun-filled Christmas tale. Sleighing audiences on a journey of a sparkling and snowy Christmas adventure to all corners of the world…singing and percussion playing for all!

WhistleBlast Quartet in collaboration with That’s Life proudly presented
MR. PRESIDENT a new operatic work with participants in leading roles from Galway’s special arts organization: That’s Life and Electric Dreams, also including young musicians from Ceol na Mara Youth Orchestra.
The performance of this unique opera was held in Town Hall Theatre, Galway on Friday June 21st at 7pm.

As well as producing our groundbreaking opera Mr President we had the pleasure of curating the wonderful inclusive ‘Hi-Vis’ Summer Festival, Derry.
WhistleBlast collaborated with Stage Beyond and Lilliput Theatre Companies in The Playhouse Theatre creating a week-long series of composition workshops culminating in a finale Variety Show featuring all participant’s fabulous unique performances.

Composition Programme 2026

Continuing to integrate mainstream and multi generational people with additional needs in our well known Composition Programme facilitating all groups’ own new works.
This year’s title: HEAR MY VOICE.
Workshops will be facilitated nationwide in Mayo, Dublin, Athenry, Limerick and Galway. Performances in Axis, Ballymun. Clontarf Remedial Clinic. Ballina Arts Centre, Mayo and Town Hall Thetare, Galway.
All with a focus on expanding our outreach programme as inclusive of all backgrounds and abilities, mainstream and students with additional needs will co create and collaborate with the quartet to develop and perform new composed repertoire in wonderful, uplifting performances.
The performance in Galway will include Ceol na Mara Youth Orchestra. A musical score, as a lasting artefact, created by Kenneth Edge.
